Enterprise Community Development

is an owner and operator of 114 affordable housing properties, has rolled out a 2.2MW community solar program for 12 DC communities to extend its climate-ready homes leadership. This program will provide residents in DC a 20 - 50% electricity bill discount while reducing electricity cost on the properties. The proposed solar facilities are under construction on Randle Hill, Arbor View, Edgewood and Overlook; and they will be energized later this year. To provide community solar subscriptions, Enterprise is partnering with Neighborhood Sun.

How Community Solar Works

Community Solar is a green option that makes solar power available to renters and homeowners with no up-front costs or expensive rooftop solar panels. Instead, solar panels are located at local solar facility within Washington, DC, which generates power from the sun and delivers it to the PEPCO DC energy grid. Then, a portion of that power is credited to you, reducing your electricity bill every month.
